Congratulations to Kenedie E. for being our Student Of The Week.   Kenedie was recommended by Mrs. Matlow.  Kenedie was recommended because of her hard work, positive attitude, very helpful with group work, and is kind to others.

Julia L. is our Student of the Week. She was chosen by Mrs. Johnson because of her mature, positive attitude. She is energetic, smart and helpful to staff and students. Her parents are Gloria and Scott.

Congratulations to David W. for being nominated the Student of the Week.   David was nominated by Ms. Cole.  David is always smiling and trying to make others around him smile.  Even though school can be tough at times, he always puts his best effort forward without hesitation.

Happy Halloween

Thank you to Mr. Lopinski and our student council for hosting an awesome Halloween Party last Friday night.  We had a building full of students having fun dancing, dodgeball, basketball, and our Haunted Media Center.  The students and staff present had a great time!

Congratulations to the student of the week, Khenzi G.  Khenzi was selected by Mr. Majewski.  Khenzi is a great example to the student body.  Khenzi is especially helpful with new students to BJHS.   Khenzi is always friendly and is an awesome ambassador  for BJHS.

Congratulations to our student of the week. Madison M.  Madison was nominated by Mrs. Copley.  Madison is a great artist and always completes her work, striving to do her best on all projects.  Madison is also very kind and helpful to the teacher and other students.  Madison has been especially helpful with students who have joined us from other schools this year. Madison’s parents are Kelley and Chris M.

Congratulations to student of the week, Brayden Nagy

Brayden was nominated by Mr. Lorenz.  Brayden excels academically in English, but is  being nominated for his character and attitude.  Brayden always looks like he's ready to handle any situation.  Brayden is willing to volunteer in class.  Brayden works well with his classmates to complete group work.  When asked why he thought he was doing so well in English, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I do my work and study for tests."   Brayden’s parents are Jennifer and Robert Nagy.

Student of the Week 10/10

Congratulations to Bishop Serratos for being selected student of the week.   Bishop was selected by his history teacher Mrs. Smith.  Bishop walks into class each day with a smile on his face and is always ready to learn.  Bishop works hard during History class, actively participates and is willing to help others when needed. It is a pleasure to have Bishop in class!  Bishop’s parents are Cheryl Serratos and Joe Serratos.

Jaelyn Rector has been selected as the student of the week by her science teacher Mrs. Mahoney.   Mrs. Mahoney recommended her because Jaelyn participates in class discussions and keeps her group on task during labs and activities. It is a pleasure to have Jaelyn in my science class.  Jaelyn's parents are Drina Rector and Daniel Rector. 

Student of the Week September 26

Congratulations to Griffin Wolf.  Griffin is our Student of the Week. Griffin has been a leader in the building for his team.  Mrs. Regnier nominated him because he has been awesome in the classroom by helping students with work, helping at lockers, and helping with getting around the building.  Mrs. Regnier says " He is always willing to help others and follows the directions and rules. Griffin also helps students without being asked."  Griffin's parents are Karen and Ryan Wolf.

8th Grade Optional Trip To Washington DC

Last night we had a cafe full of parents seeking more information regarding our potential optional trip to Washington DC this spring break.  Our 8th grade social studies teachers presented to the students.  If you have any questions regarding the trip, please ask your child's 8th grade history teacher.  See the presentation below if you missed it.

This week’s  student of the week is Hannah Vickery.  Hannah was nominated by Mr. Burgermeister.  .  Hannah has shown the ability to correctly model mathematical situations and then be able to help others classmates learn.  Hannah is the daughter of Amy and James Vickery.

Congratulations to Student of the Week Trenton DeLaney.  Trenton was nominated by Mr. Allison for his great work ethic and ability to ask questions.  Trenton has demonstrated the perseverance to work through hard concepts and confirm that he understands what he is doing.  As Mr. Allison puts it, he has the skills to “build on” in shop class.  Trenton’s parents are Michele and Matthew DeLaney

We had a great start today with very excited students and staff.

The team at BJHS is looking forward to this school year!

This Thursday evening we are having our open house and all families are welcome.  We will be starting in the gym at 6:45 then transitioning into a mini schedule to meet teachers after the general meeting.

Fun and Rewarding Week

This has been a great week at BJHS!

On Monday we inducted 39 new members into the Richard Panning Bedford National Junior Honor Society Branch.  Thank you Mrs. Tully and Faculty Council for organizing a wonderful ceremony.

Then our 7th Graders went to the Mudhen's Career Day.  Thank you to PTA for arranging transportation and getting our kids shirts.

Then we ended the week with our annual school awards.  Students were recognized for outstanding achievement in their classes.  Congratulations to Susannah Cochran and Noah Bock for being selected for Outstanding Bronco.

Congratulations Mrs. Fletcher for coming in 2nd place in our region for the VFW's teacher of the year in our region.  BJHS is blessed to have an educational leader like Mrs. Fletcher.

We Are All A Piece Of The Puzzle

April is Autism Awareness Month.  BJHS is celebrating by having a kick-off assembly today.  We will also be decorating our halls to promote awareness, fund raising for an Autism Charity, wearing blue on Fridays, and sharing facts on Autism through our announcements.

5th Grade Open House

BJHS was packed with future Broncos from the elementary schools on Monday night.  I appreciate all of the enthusiasm and excitement of coming to the next level from the parents and students.  Thank you for the help PTA and for the support from all of the parents.

Welcome 5th Graders

This week I was able to go to DRE, JRE, and MRE to visit with the 5th grade students and discuss becoming JHS Students.  THEY WILL BE JHS STUDENTS IN 6 MONTHS!!!!  Time passes by fast!  I am excited to have all the new faces in the building.  Students were great during my presentation.  All students were given the registration form (click here for a copy)
We will be having an open house and a scavenger hunt at the JHS on 3/14, starting at 6:45.  I will meet with parents at 7:00 in the gym and then students will be able to explore the building.

Busy Weekend

What a weekend for BJHS students!

We started out with our annual Valentine Dance sponsored by our student council.  When anyone says dance at BJHS, the first thing that comes to mine is...Open Gym.  Our students had a great time playing and hanging out with friends.

Saturday, many students ventured to Ann Arbor Pioneer to participate in solo and ensemble.  Students were able to perform before a judge, who then gave them feedback and a rating.  Great job to all that participated.

7th Grade Focus on Curriculum
