Thank you very much to teachers Mr. Snowberger and Mr. Laburn for serving our country in the military.
Please remember that even though we have Thanksgiving break in a few weeks; today is a true day of thanks.  So please go out and thank your friend or family member that have served in the military.

Michigan Cyber Safety Initiative

Cyber Safety is a hot topic in schools and around the dinner table.  BPS is doing a lot this week to work with parents and students on educating everyone about the issues.

On Tuesday, at the SHS Auditorium, the school will have a presentation given by the Michigan Department of Education on Cyber Safety.  All are welcome and the talk begins at 7:00.

We are currently conducting lessons in our 7th & 8th grade classes on Cyber Safety.
We will also be having Cyber Safety Assemblies on Thursday afternoon for our 6th graders.

This is a handout that your 6th grade student will bring home.

The handout is from the following site,  click here.

Day Of The Dead

The 6th grade Social Studies curriculum focuses on North America, South America, and Mexico.  One of the things that some of our teachers have talked about with their students is Day of the Dead.  Please click here to find out more about this Mexican Holiday. I was able to sneak up to Ms. Dunnigan's class and have some bread. If was very good.

Below are some masks based on how they celebrate in Mexico that Ms. Matney's art class made.
